“Elsewhere is a living museum set within a former thrift store.”
Located in downtown Greensboro, NC, this artistically collaborative, three-story space has been coined as a “public park” for nearly 13 years. Once an old thrift store, this space still harbors room after room of second hand items—from fabric, dolls, and books, visiting artists use anything they can get their hands on to create intriguing installations. The rules? The installations cannot be taken from the space, and the artists are limited to only the media found within Elsewhere. Read a nice article about it here. I have to say I’m totally inspired by this… Thanks to Annie Blazer, co-manager of Special Passenger Records, for chatting with me about it.
